National Youth Gathering Houston Texas 2018

Campfirmation is a partnership between LUTHERIDGE and youth groups of congregations called CLUSTERS. Campers stay in cabins with other middle school youth and a college-age counselor. Many counselors have a history with Lutheridge from their camper days and are well trained, responsible, and excellent role models of Jesus’ love. Pastors or other congregation leaders plan, lead, and participate in daily teaching sessions. Leaders are welcome to join the youth and their counselors in activi- ties such as swimming, crafts, games, skits, singing, campfires, hikes, and an off-site outing. So much faith learning happens during this week! Lasting relationships among adults and youth are forged as well. Here are pictures from Emmanuel Lutherans Confirmands week at Campfirmation!

Columbarium, Memorial Garden Groundbreaking Ceremony
August 6, 2017

A ground breaking ceremony for the Columbarium, Memorial Garden was held immediately after worship on August 6, 2017. The Columbarium and Memorial Garden is being constructed on the north side of the church property. The Columbarium will be 28 feet by 28 feet as well as associated landscaping and sidewalk access. Initially there will be 48 niches with room to expand. Construction has now begun with completion expected in November 2017.

Campers made lap quilts of their design this year for themselves and then made an additional lap quilt that was donated by the campers to the Children's Advocacy Center in Lincolnton (See last two slides). The children also made a larger quilt that they will donate to Lutheran World Relief in November.
