Twice a year the Golden Agers sponsor a one day bus trip to nearby towns and attractions, and everyone is invited. On October 11, the Golden Agers travelled to Old Salem. After arriving at the Visitor Center, we crossed the Heritage Bridge which connects the Visitor Center to Old Salem, and is the largest and longest covered bridge in North Carolina. There were two options for lunch - the Old Salem Tavern or the Flour Box Tea Room and Café. After lunch, we had several hours to tour the historic district which included gift shops, a bakery, museums, churches and landscaped gardens.
Golden Agers meets on the third Monday of every month with a pot luck luncheon at 12 noon in the Faith Building. We have guest speakers and informative and entertaining programs. We are actively seeking new members so please join us for good food and wonderful fellowship. Everyone is welcome!
